ABOUT ME

ME INFORMATION

as you can see, i am an offspring enthusiast

hey there! my name is rex. others know me as cal, and others know me as dex. i'm a 15 year old computermusician who is really into puters, any animation 1990s'-2010s, and art. i'm also intrested in psycology, and maybe if i don't keep getting F's in math (always drags down my grade and thus my GPA...) i can get a degree in psycology. but my main goal: be a musician. niche furry computermusic; that's my thing. doesn't matter if i work a horrible minimum wage job and do it in my freetime, as long as i can do music i'm happy. my software of choice is openMPT, trackers work with how digital music looks in my head. honestly, DAWs are weird to me period. i can't wrap my brain around them. my mind somehow works better with some weird excel spreadsheet looking software. scrolling down a pattern works better than scrolling by a bunch of pictures that hurt my brain because of how much detail is in there. it tires me out. i guess part of it is also how samples are placed, the nice and organized grid matches my brain. i have the most fun producing in openMPT, and having fun is how you really get into it.

i'm from washington. i'm meant for the cooler climate of the western part of the state, but recently we moved to central wa, aka little california.

i love collecting optical media. specifically of the optical disc kind. no matter what optical disc format it is, i want it. normal dvds, red book standard cds (aka the most common cds you'll find,) blue book standard cds (AKA cdextra/cd enhanced,) dualdiscs, whatever i find. most of the time if i buy a certain format, it's probably because it's an offspring release. that's because i run an archival site dedicated to the band. i also have a handful of dvds, but i mostly like cds due to my affinity for music. my favorite optical disc standard is the blue book standard.

i'm a yumedanshi, but i also identify as fictoqueer since i identify with the experience.

HALLEY LABS

i've been a fan of halley labs since the pandemic in 2020 started. however, i discovered halley labs right after i got my first phone on christmas 2019. i casually listened to a few songs until continually digging for more music. i have a very long story relating to halley labs' involvement in my life, so tldr if it wasn't for halley labs i wouldn't be the person i am today because the impact it had on my life was massive.

THE OFFSPRING

i've been into the offspring since mid to late 2022. one night i was listening to a punk playlist with my mom, and a few of their songs came up. i specifically recall the kids aren't alright clearly, but i also remember you're gonna go far, kid. that wasn't the first time i heard of or listened to them, however. when i lived with my mom and step dad between the ages of 7 and 10, the radio station that they always had on was 99.9 KISW. i was 7 in 2016, and 10 in 2019 (09 baby). the radio station played the offspring quite commonly from what i recall, but it probably didn't and that may be me just fixating on certain parts. yes i have drawn fanart of dexter and noodles

VENTURE BROS.

i also like venture bros, i started watching it early july 2024, estimated july 1st or july 3rd. i finished watching it in a month, got most of the way through a second rewatch (first few episodes of season 6 i believe) then said "fuck it, we ball" and just started watching episodes randomly out of order for funsies. i like watching them on either my laptop or my phone because i can get screenshots of dean (as it isn't apparent yet, i have a huge crush on him.) i have a radiant is the blood of the baboon heart blu-ray + poster and a 3 inch dean figure that i take everywhere (except for school and public areas but i do take her to school on fridays.) i hc dean uses he/she + fem terms to refer to herself but don't have a transfem headcanon. just fem dude :3 nothin wrong with dawn/transfem headcanons though. love me a good transfem headcanon

ROBOT UNICORN ATTACK

i've been playing robot unicorn attack since i was 5, but apparently according to my dad i played the mobile version of the first game when i was way younger, too young to remember. so being an RUA fan is like a birthright for me (even though i'm only a year older than it,) in the same way being a daft punk fan is a birthright for me except i'm too lazy to listen to more than discovery (love it sm because of interstella 5555 which is a childhood movie.) parents played a lot of daft punk in my childhood. anyways, rua is like an on and off interest for me. a special interest if you will. funnily enough it deserves that title more than lapfox, lapfox is simply my second longest lasting interest. the offspring are the third. methinks i deserve to have the title of special AS fan... (as i have quite the history with their shows and network)
