we found a jasper revision xbox 360 that had some water damage to to being in a humid environment at some point in one of our totes. it used to belong to my stepmom, now my dad's ex-girlfriend, and apparently she could do without it so it's mine now. it took a day, but we figured out that the issue was the part of the xbox that handles the rf board. too much power is being asked of for the rf for whatever gay ass reason and the 360 shuts off like 1 second into the startup animation. my solution? use an rf from the falcon revision board and plug it in only halfway. enough to have wireless controller usage, not enough for the top left led to work. which does not matter who gives a shit
i also swapped the disc drive with the one from the falcon xbox cause it looked cooler and had a lower power draw.
and not sure if i've mentioned the falcon here by its usual name, but it's the redringed xbox that i've just used for decoration up until now since it was redringed. turns out, the cpu is fine. the capacitors on it, not so much.
i will attempt to use badavatar to softmod my xbox.
