homogenized in this sense refers to the space. everyone is different ages, but they're shoved into the same room. thus a homogenized space
i saw a comment on twitter about how tiktok is full of actual factual children 12 and under. they're right, actually. and because of that, i disagree with tiktok trying to have "adult creators" on a platform so full to the brim with children. trying to make an all ages space with no limit on what people are doing is dangerous. tiktok is essentially lots of children's online refuge, basically (and unfortunately) making is a children's space, which is why on that platform i think that adults come second in mind as an audience.
in other places, children are even pushed out of their own spaces because of some (did you just say all) adults being entitled children about what spaces they should be allowed in. i'm not saying adults shouldn't have been allowed to play club penguin, but i'm saying that they should be mindful that they are an outsider in this space. this space is not for them. and a lot of adults don't understand that (and downright refuse to.) an observation i've made is that a lot of the time it tends to be millennials. i'm not trying to hint at the idea that you should start hating on millennials, i'm just saying it's a problem with some that i've noticed. which is why it bothers me a lot when even on public spaces with people 13-17, adults will try to goon on main and yell at minors to get out of their own space.
the only homogenized age spaces that i guess would be ok would be something like forums where people ask for help and others answer. something informational and helpful, because that happens in real life. adults will help children, and that's fine. but the corporatization of the internet has led to age homogenization, some adults are whinier than ever, and this was definetly a ploy to push censorship.
so for something like a game, i think anyone can play but if they aren't the target audience they NEED to keep in mind that they are an afterthought and behave appropriately in that space as well. obviously kids should stay out of adult spaces (games, communities for media, etc) though.
